Context

C4’s vision is to become a regional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of people in Jesus name. The following staff position is critical in helping ministries execute on the fulfillment of that vision.

Role

Director of Guest Services will give primary oversight to ministries which impact the first impression of guests and attendees of all C4 Church locations, in alignment with the mission, vision and values of C4.

Requirements

  • Fully aligned with the mission, vision and values of C4

  • A strong loyalty to the leadership of C4

  • Spiritual maturity to lead in a growing church environment

  • A proven ability to build team leaders who lead teams of volunteers

  • Able to lead and function in a gift-based, large, multi-staff church

  • A solution-minded self-starter who has a track record of getting things done

Spiritual Gifts

  • Primary gift mix would include leadership and administration

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in working closely with and leading people

  • Experience working in a volunteer staffed organization

  • Previous experience giving organizational direction to a guest’s experience would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direct oversight to Guest Services teams of ushers, greeters, parking attendants and coffee/refreshment servers

  • Ensure mission, vision and values of C4 Church are being expressed through Guest Services teams in a guest/attendee experience

  • Oversee guest/attendee experience for worship services at all sites and specified church-wide events

  • Develop team of Guest Services leaders who will oversee teams of volunteers at current and future C4 sites

  • Deliver ongoing training to Guest Services teams

  • Establish and implement quality standards for all Guest Services volunteers through training, coaching, leadership development and feedback

  • Develop and maintain a recruitment plan and training strategy for new Guest Services volunteers

  • Act as Guest Services lead at Ajax location while training and developing team leads at all other sites

  • Interact primarily as part of the Sites & Services staff team with key relationships across all staff departments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to capture big picture vision while maintaining high attention to detail

  • Ensure staff value of excellence is delivered regularly in a guest’s experience

  • Leading volunteers and accomplishing goals through volunteer teams

  • Ability to envision a guest’s full experience from arrival to departure including follow up and return visits
