We have now concluded the first part of Exodus about the Exodus (Exodus 1-18) and are moving over to the next part of Exodus focused on The Laws of Moses (Exodus 19 – 24). We hope you have a wonderful experience getting know more about this portion of scripture as well.
Here is the general overview of Exodus
- Exodus 1 – 18: The coming out
- Exodus 19 – 24: The Mosaic Covenant (Laws)- This week's reading
- Exodus 25 – 40: The Tabernacle and all its associated ceremonies.
Another important theme you will come across as you read the first five Books of the Bible is the theme of 'atonement' and 'sacrifices'. A theme that could seem rather new to many of us. What does atonement mean and why does the Bible talk a-lot about animal sacrifices? Well, this week's devotional Video above tells us more about that!
God is on a mission to remove evil from His good world, along with all of its corrosive effects. However, He wants to do it in a way that does not involve removing humans. In this video, we trace the theme of God’s “covering” over human evil through animal sacrifices that ultimately point to Jesus and his death and resurrection.
Enjoy your time spent in Scripture this week. We will be praying that God would give you the desire, clarity and the time to read His word.
Come next week to C4YA ready to discuss some of these questions and insights with your circle and engage in some discussions around the weekly video and live teaching.
Have a blessed week!
