This Week's Readings
This Week's Reading Text
This week’s Bible Reading: Leviticus 22-27
This Week’s Reflection and prayer: Psalm 71-80
It’s our challenge this year to read through the entire Bible. "Our Journey Home" is the title for our Journey from the Book of Exodus though to Joshua, Judges & Ruth. Here we encounter the story of Israel journeying out of Egypt, through the wilderness to eventually settle in Canaan, their promised land. In many ways this shows us about our very own Christian journey after being delivered by Christ from bondage, journeying and growing in our wilderness experiences until we mature and posses our full inheritance in Christ. So, as we read, there are some exciting parallels we get to glean from the stories of Israel. So pay attention to that as you read.
WATCH THIS WEEK'S VIDEO: ATONEMENT
In Leviticus we learn about sacrifices and the Day of Atonement. What does atonement mean and why does the Bible talk alot about animal sacrifices? Well, this week's devotional Video above tells us more about that!
God is on a mission to remove evil from His good world, along with all of its corrosive effects. However, He wants to do it in a way that does not involve removing humans. In this video, we trace the theme of God’s “covering” over human evil through animal sacrifices that ultimately point to Jesus and his death and resurrection.
Have a blessed week!
